Directions to Brevard and to the Transylvania County Library

From Asheville, take I-26 south toward Greenville/Spartanburg. Take the airport exit (exit 40) to Brevard off of I-26. At the top of the exit ramp, take a right and follow 280 all the way to Brevard (approximately 25 minutes). Continue following directions at A. below.

From Greenville/Spartanburg, take I-26 north toward Asheville. Take the airport exit (exit 40) to Brevard off of I-26. At the top of the exit ramp, take a left and follow 280 all the way to Brevard (approximately 25 minutes).   Continue following directions at A. below

A.   As you approach town, Hwy. 280 becomes Broad Street.  You will eventually pass lots of fast food places (McDonalds, Wendy's), then a shopping center with an Ingles and K-Mart (on your left) -- stay in the LEFT lane - and then a Burger King. Continue in the LEFT lane (the road splits just after the Burger King and the right lane veers off). Continue straight into downtown -- pass the entrance to Brevard College on the left, then up the big hill to the light at the intersection of Broad St. (which is the street you are on) and Main St. -- the Transylvania County courthouse will be on the left corner at this light. Continue through that light and through the next light. At the third light (First Citizen's Bank is on your RIGHT and the old library building is on your left), TAKE A LEFT onto Morgan Street (this is a one-way street). Go one block to the stop sign, take a RIGHT onto Gaston Street. Go one block to the stop sign -- take a RIGHT into the library parking lot.

 If you happen to miss the turn at Morgan St., continue down Broad St., you will pass right in front of the library on the left.  At the next street on the left         (Varsity Street), take a left, then a left at the next street (Gaston) and continue around to come in the parking lot from the other direction.  The library sits between Gaston and Broad, but we do not have an entrance to the parking lot from Broad Street.  The number at the library is 828-884-3151 -- try ext. 229 if you have any questions.
